NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News police say they've tracked down a man involved in a March mob attack.
Ezau Ledezma, 20, was taken into police custody on July 2 and charged with malicious wounding and simple assault or battery by mob. Investigators say a 15-year-old suspect also participated in the attack.
Officers were called to the no hundred block of Lewis Drive on March 31, 2012 in reference to an assault. When they arrived, the victim said two men approached him. The older suspect pulled out a knife and told him to leave. As he was leaving, the juvenile suspect punched him in the back of the head and tripped him. Once on the ground, the victim told police that both suspects repeatedly kicked him.
The victim was transported to Riverside Medical Center with what police describe as significant injuries.
Police say they conducted a lengthy investigation which led them to the suspects.
