NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Windows were broken as people waited in line for new Air Jordans at a Newport News shop Friday.
The latest shoes don’t go on sale until Saturday, but in a scene reminiscent of Black Friday, folks are already lining up for their own pair. One Facebook fan told WAVY.com she saw people lined up Thursday at a Payless Shoe Store.
WAVY.com spoke with a teen and his aunt about the long lines. They said people were acting up as a result of waiting. One caller said police had to escort employees into stores.
Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department told WAVY.com a couple of windows were broken from people leaning up against them. No arrests have been made due to any behavior from those waiting in line at this time.
