NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A Newport News community held a Feeding One Thousand Feast and Community Celebration Saturday afternoon.
The Phoebus High School Marching Band led the way at the event, which kicked off at noon at the C. Waldo Scott Center. The free event brought the East End community together for a meal to embrace holiday spirit.
“We have the community coming out,” Andrew Shannon told WAVY.com. “They’re going to be participating.”
The is the fifth year for the event. In November, the group help a Feeding Five Thousand celebration during Thanksgiving.
