NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - The Virginia Living Museum is still working to collect enough funds to afford a $50,000 deductible for flood damage sustained last month.

WAVY-TV 10 and Fox 43 TV are proud sponsors of the "Walk On the Wild Side" walk-a-thon to help the museum raise enough money to pay for the deductible. Two loops of the area equal a mile.

The museum will open its boardwalk from 8:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. Monday Monday through Saturday for walkers. Registration is $20 and includes a t-shirt but museum admission is not included.

A flash flood on Aug. 27 caused significant damage to the main floor of the museum, the worst in its 45-year history.
