Man found behind auto parts store ID'd

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News police are conducting a death investigation after a body was found behind an Advance Auto Parts store off J. Clyde Morris Blvd. Saturday afternoon.

An employee was was walking behind the store at 1004 J. Clyde Morris Blvd. around 12:18 p.m. when they discovered a male body, according to a police spokesman.

Police have not released the circumstances surrounding the person's death. Newport News Police spokesman Harold Eley said Kenton Green, 48, was homeless and his death did not appear suspicious. Green's last known address was in the 100 block of Clyde Street in Hampton.

The cause of Green's death is pending.
