GLOUCESTER, Va. (WAVY) - A man was robbed while using an ATM in Gloucester County Saturday evening.
The man was using the ATM at the Chesapeake Bank in the 3000 block of George Washington Memorial Highway around 5:15 p.m. when another man came from the far side of the ATM and pulled out a handgun. The suspect demanded that the man give him the money he had just withdrawn, according to a spokesman for the Gloucester County Sheriff's office.
The suspect then asked the man if he had any other cards he could use to withdraw money from the ATM and made him try several other cards on the machine.
The man was not injured and the robber was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is described as a black male, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and a surgical mask, and was carrying what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun.
