CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A lightning strike appeared to have started a house fire in Deep Creek section of Chesapeake Saturday evening.
Capt. Scott Saunders with the Chesapeake Fire Department said crews responded to 2145 Chesterfield Loop at 4:46 p.m. They arrived at 4:55 p.m. to find no fire, but upon further investigation, crews found a small fire in the attic, Saunders said.
He said the fire appeared to have been started by a lightning strike.
There were no injuries.
The house sustained minor damage. Saunders said the home's two residents would able to occupy the house. Crews had the fire out at 5:13 p.m.
