SURRY, Va. (WAVY) - The Jamestown-Scotland ferry, Pocahotas, will go back into service Feb. 8.
The ferry was pulled from its regular rotation Nov. 28 for its biennial shipyard period. The vessel will join the Williamsburg, Surry and Vriginia vessels for morning rush hour.
During its service period, the Pocahotas' main engines were outfitted with EPA compliant power packs. Repairs were also done to the Voith propulsion unit. VDOT says the vessel also got a fresh coat of paint.
Remember, you can call the ferry hotline 24 hours a day at 1-800-VAFERRY.
