HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - A woman and toddler were treated for minor injuries following a fire along Smiley Road in Hampton early Tuesday morning.
Capt. Anthony Chittum with Hampton Fire and Rescue said the fire started around midnight in the 400 block of Smiley Road. When crews arrived on scene, smoke was showing from the right side of the home.
The small kitchen fire was extinguished quickly, Chittum said.
Smoke and water damage have made the home unlivable at this time. Chittum said a toddler was treated for a minor contusion to the head while a woman was treated for minor burns to her leg.
No firefighters were injured.
The cause remains under investigation at this time.
