Thousands without power in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - More than 4,600 residents in Hampton were without power Monday evening as a result of a fallen cross-arm.

According to Bonita Harris with Dominion Virginia Power the cross-arm fell in the 4000 block of Threechopt Road.

Areas affected included Thomas Nelson Community College, northern Hampton, Todds Lane, Big Bethel Road and Mercury Boulevard.

Harris said the outage happened just before 8 p.m. and all but 670 customers' power was restored by 9:30 p.m.
