HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - A bicyclist is facing charges after he was struck by a truck along a Hampton road Friday morning, according to police.
Sgt. Jason Price with the Hampton Police Division said the bicyclist was traveling on North King Street just before 6:30 a.m. when a blue pickup truck turning from Rip Rap Road onto North King Street struck the bicyclist.
Price said the bicyclist disregarded the red traffic light, causing the crash. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
He will be charged with disregarding a traffic signal, Price added.
