HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Police say no charges were filed following a fight outside of a Hampton high school between two students.
The fight occurred Feb. 6 just after 2:30 p.m. outside Bethel High School. A school bus driver was aboard a bus during the incident and watched it unfold.
According to Ann Stephens-Cherry with Hampton Public Schools, bus drivers are not allowed to get out of buses while they are running. She said the bus driver made the initial call to police about the fight.
Sgt. Jason Price with the Hampton Police Division said officers are investigating the incident and one of the students involved suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
He said the school's resource officer was at the opposite end of the school when the fight happened and by the time he got to the area of the fight, it was over.
Stephens-Cherry said disciplinary action was taken with the students involved.
According to an email sent out to staff by Principal Ralph Saunders, faculty will meet next week to "focus on the continuous improvement and the safety and order our bullying."
Stephens-Cherry denying on-camera interviews Thursday and Friday.
