Gas leak closes part of Hampton road

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - A gas leak closed a portion of King Street in Hampton Friday.

Capt. Jeff Pereira with the Hampton Fire Division told WAVY.com the leak occurred around 11 a.m. when a construction crew damaged a ¾ inch gas line. King Street between Gilbert Street and Little Back River Road was closed as crews worked to fix the leak.

No homes were evacuated and no injuries were reported.
