HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Crews responded to a commercial fire in Hampton Thursday evening in the 1600 block of Pembroke Avenue.
According to Capt. Jeff Pereira with the Hampton Fire Department, crews were dispatched to the scene just before 7 p.m. and arrived to find heavy smoke from a long, single story commercial building.
Pereira says the metal-clad building likely housed two automotive businesses. Crews called a second alarm due to the size of the building and put out the fire within 30 minutes.
Both stores suffered heat, smoke and water damage. Pereira says no injuries were reported.
