HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - WAVY News is on your side helping families keep warm this winter with the annual Coats for Families drive.
Saturday, 10 On Your Side’s Anita Blanton was at the Hampton YMCA helping people pick new coats. WAVY TV and partners on our side, Langley Federal Credit Union, collected new and gently used coats for families.
Volunteers handed out more than 500 coats.
“Anybody wants a coat, then can come,” Tammy Major told WAVY.com. “Generally early on we’ll have schools that will call and say ‘Hey, we need about 20 coats, we have about 20 different kids that are in need. Do you have some coats now that we can come pick up?’ and we’ll say sure, tell us the sizes and we’ll have them ready for you.”
Stay with WAVY.com for future times and locations where you can pick up a coat for your family.
