Gilmerton bridge closed for weekend

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Department of Transportation will be closing the Gilmerton Bridge all weekend starting the evening of Aug. 3.
The bridge will re-open on Monday, Aug. 6 at 5 a.m. The closure is part of VDOT's replacement project which should be complete next fall.
Drivers should use the high-rise bridge or the downtown tunnel as alternate routes.
