Franklin man dies in crash

SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - Police responded to the scene of a fatal accident Friday afternoon on Route 611 in Southampton County.

According to a state police spokesperson, a 2008 Ford pick-up truck ran off the road to the right and overturned. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as 47-year-old Bennie Earl Cullipher, Jr., of Franklin died at the scene.

Police say reckless driving and failure to maintain proper control of the vehicle contributed to the crash.
