FRANKLIN, Va. (WAVY) - A fire at an apartment complex in Franklin Sunday afternoon has displaced two families.
The fire sparked at the Webb Commons located on West 2nd Avenue in Franklin. Franklin Fire Chief Vince Holt told WAVY.com on scene when crews arrived, they found the fire inside a wall.

“That caused the fire to be contained inside the wall, but it also allowed it to spread up into the attic space, which allowed for it to spread faster throughout the building,” Holt said.
The fire appears to be electrical in nature. Nearby fire agencies, such as Carrsville, were dispatched to aid Franklin firefighters.
As a result of the fire, seven people were displaced and two units suffered fire damage. Holt told WAVY.com the building was likely a total loss.
