Fire damaged vehicle inside warehouse

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Fire officials say flames damaged a vehicle inside a warehouse at 1209 International Plaza early Monday morning. Firefighters received a call just after 5 a.m. They found heavy smoke coming from the back of the Spivey Rentals warehouse building.

A second alarm responded because of the size of the structure. Using thermal imagining cameras (TICs), crews were able to locate the specialty pavement marking truck.

Representatives from Spivey Rentals say the value of the truck is more than $500,000.

Due to the rupture of the truck's fuel tank, the fire department's Hazardous Materials Team responded.

The flames caused minor smoke damage throughout the building.

The vehicles are painting trucks used for specialized jobs such as highway marking and other jobs.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
