YORK, Va. (WAVY) - A 23-year-old York County man was shot in the early hours of Saturday morning, according to a Sheriff's Office spokesman.
York-Poquoson sheriff's deputies were called to the 100 block of Luther Dr. in the Bruton area around 3:15 a.m. for reports of a gunshot victim. When they arrived on scene deputies found a 23-year-old suffering from a single gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to a sheriff's office spokesman.
Investigators say the shooting appears to have occurred in the area of Bethune Drive, which is close to where the victim was found. No other details on the shooting have been released.
The York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who may have information regarding the shooting to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-UP.
