VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - On Tuesday, a Virginia Beach man was sentenced to 35 years in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release for child pornography charges.

25-year-old Alan Paul Strieper pled guilty to attempted enticement and child pornography on June 11, 2010. He was sentenced on Tuesday in Norfolk federal court.

According to court records, Striper began engaging in chat sessions in November 2009 with an undercover federal source about his interest in child pornography and engaging in sexual acts with children. Over the next two months, Striper discussed his desire to kidnap, rape, and murder a child as a young newborn to the undercover officer.

Strieper asked the undercover agent to travel to meet him so that they could kidnap and rape a child. The agent agreed to fly from St. Louis to Norfolk on February 5, 2010 to put the kidnapping plan into action, and agents arrested Strieper when he arrived at the Norfolk International Airport to pick up the undercover source.

A search of Strieper's rental car revealed that he purchased duct tape, Clorox bleach, latex gloves and other cleaning products, and a red Elmo doll. An evaluation of his computer also revealed a substantial amount of child pornography.
