NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Five months after someone set a Norfolk church on fire, the doors reopened Sunday morning.
Work crews spent the past few months repainting, cleaning and getting rid of the smoky smell inside Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church on Newport Avenue.
Someone set the building on fire back in May. Flames destroyed the newly renovated kitchen and church offices. Today all that's left to be fixed are a few phone lines.
The fire was contained to the inside of the church.
