YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - Four people were injured when their recreational vehicle caught fire in a campground off Newman Road Friday in York County.
Capt. Paul Long with the York County Department of Fire and Safety told WAVY.com firefighters were dispatched to a fire at the Williamsburg/Busch Gardens KOA Campground just after 9 p.m. When they arrived, they found two adults and two children injured by the fire.
One child was flown to the Medical College of Virginia while the others were transported by ground. Their injuries appear to be life-threatening, Long said.
After a preliminary investigation, fire crews say the fire looks to have been started by a propane leak.
Long added a fire station was close by, so crews were able to be on scene about one minute after receiving the initial call.
