Police respond to morning robbery

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A robbery occurred at a Chesapeake 7-Eleven at 5:15 a.m. Thursday, according to Chesapeake Police dispatchers.

The 7-Eleven is located at Towne Point Road and Churchland Boulevard.

Kelly O'Sullivan describes the suspect as a black man between 18 and 30 years old. He is approximately 5-foot-8, 140 pounds and was wearing all black at the time of the crime.

Police say the suspect displayed a black handgun to the cashier, went behind the counter and removed an unknown amount of cash from the register.

There is no report of injuries at this time.
