CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Chesapeake Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday.
Kelly O'Sullivan with Chesapeake Police said the shooting occurred in the 1400 block of Paul Eason Drive when an officer tried to serve an emergency custody order to a 60-year-old man.
O'Sullivan said the man became combative and resisted the officer and a struggle took place.
The officer then shot the man once in the leg, according to police.
The 60-year-old was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
