CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A child was accidentally hit by the vehicle his mother was driving as he got out to go to school Thursday morning.
Kelly O’Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department told WAVY.com the incident occurred in front of Camelot Elementary School located at 2901 Guenevere Dr. The 7-year-old boy stumbled as he was getting out of the sport utility vehicle and suffered an injury to his leg when he was struck.
O’Sullivan said the boy was conscious and breathing when he was transported to the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters.
