Worker struck by metal beam

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Police say an industrial worker was hospitalized after being struck by a metal beam Friday morning.

According to Capt. Scott Saunders with the Chesapeake Fire Department, fire crews were dispatched to the 2000 block of Myers Road shortly after 10:30 a.m.

Saunders said the worker was conscious and alert but was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
