CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - The Gilmerton Bridge will close the weekend of Feb. 8 through Feb. 11 to motorists for construction.

The Virginia Department of Transportation says the Gilmerton Brige closure will begin at 8 p.m. Feb. 8. The bridge will reopen at 5 a.m. Feb. 11.

In addition, the bridge will also be closed weeknights, Sunday through Thursday, beginning at 8 p.m. The bridge will reopen each weekday morning by 5 a.m. The only exception to this will be Feb. 14, when the bridge will remain open, according to VDOT.

Motorists can use either the High Rise Bridge on Interstate 64 or the tolled Jordan Bridge.
