Gas leak shuts down Battlefield Blvd.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A gas leak closed a portion of Battlefield Boulevard in Chesapeake Friday afternoon, according to officials.

According to Elizabeth Vaughn with the City of Chesapeake Public Works department, police closed Battlefield Boulevard from the Great Bridge Bridge to Cedar Road for the gas leak around 1:50 p.m.

Vaughn said that the incident area was cleared and roads were open at 7:15 p.m. on Friday evening.
