Funeral to be held for 12-year-old girl

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A funeral will be held Tuesday for the 12-year-old girl who was shot and killed last week in Chesapeake.

According to police, Carolyn Walker died when she was shot in the head by a 13-year-old friend.

Walker's mother originally said they were playing a game of 'Russian Roulette,' but at the vigil she said she is waiting to hear what led up to the shooting.

Walker was a sixth grader at Deep Creek Middle School.

Walker's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. at the Metropolitan Funeral Service on Berkley Avenue in Chesapeake.

The 13-year-old accused of killing Walker was charged with manslaughter. He remains in custody.
