CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A fallen tree limb caused a natural gas leak at a Chesapeake home early Thursday morning.

Capt. Scott Saunders with the Chesapeake Fire Department told WAVY.com crews were called to the 1300 block of Danielle Court after a tree limb hit a natural gas meter at 4:43 a.m. The limb damaged the meter, causing a leak.

Firefighters evacuated surrounding homes as Virginia Natural Gas responded to repair the leak. The scene was cleared around 5:45 a.m.

No one was injured.
