CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Chesapeake Police are investigating how a car and a pickup truck crashed into an office building Saturday afternoon.
The crash occurred around 3 p.m. and witnesses told WAVY.com a man driving the truck appeared to be speeding through the parking lot. They claimed the truck’s airbag was already inflated and the windshield was cracked before he crashed into the car, sending both into the building.
“I was upstairs waiting for another client to come [because] I do DNA testing and I hear this explosion and I go downstairs,” Lisa Pitts told WAVY.com. “I usually nod off in my car and something told me to go upstairs. I heard an explosion and I looked and my car was in the lobby.”
Crews took the driver of the pickup to the hospital. His condition and circumstances surrounding the crash remain unknown at this time.
