CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Chesapeake city council members decided Tuesday to delay a vote that would have allowed a shipping terminal to be built in the South Norfolk neighborhood.
Georgia-based Seagate Handling wants to build a facility that would create about 15 jobs.
Developers unsuccessfully tried to build a mixed-used residential and commercial building near the southern branch of the Elizabeth River called Belharbour.
The planning commission approved proposal in June.
The vote has been suspended until Sept. 18.
