Young man shot on Welcome Rd.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Chesapeake Police are investigating an afternoon shooting that sent one man to the hospital.

Officers responded to a shooting in the 3000 block of Welcome Rd. at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim was shot one time, then ran to the 2100 block of Farmer Lane, according to police spokeswoman Officer Kelly O'Sullivan.

Medics transported the man to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

There are no suspects in custody.
