CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Chesapeake police have announced they will be conducting safety checkpoints during a three-hour period Thursday, Aug. 30.

According to Mary Ann Rayment with the Chesapeake Police Department, the traffic safety checkpoint operation "Border to Border" is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and end at 1 p.m.

Rayment says this is the 14th year of the operation, meant to ensure all drivers are following traffic safety laws and driving sober.
