CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A public meeting was held in Chesapeake Tuesday night for the public to see what the future of Virginia transportation could hold.
Four public meetings are being held across the state in August to provide the public with information about the Virginia Surface Transportation Plan and VTrans2035, Virginia’s longrange multimodal transportation plan.
"Often times we hear that sometimes projects are a surprise," Aubrey Layne with the Commonwealth Transportation Board said. "This is a way to get [the public's] input, and to make sure we're making decisions that are consistent with the public comments that we hear."
The plan will include transit, highways, rail, freight, bike and pedestrian, aviation and ports.
The Hampton Roads meeting was being at the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, 723 Woodlake Drive in Chesapeake.
