Street flooding at Churchill Court in Virginia Beach

HAMPTON ROADS, Va. - Heavy rains rolled through Hampton Roads area early Wednesday morning, resulting in a number or road closures and flooding reports.
Shore Drive in Va. Beach saw floodiing in some areas.
In Portsmouth, the ramp at 264 West at Frederick Blvd was closed due to high standing water for some time.
Flooding has also affected the 2400 blk. of Gilmerton in Chesapeake.
City Line Apartments on 74th Street, as well as the Fox Hill area of Hampton also reported seeing high waters.
Isle of WIght County also reported high waters in the areas of Smithfield Station and Church Street, Broadwater and Strawberry, Magnet and Fourth Square and 17342 Bowling Green Road.
North Carolina did not report any weather related road closures or flooding.
Flooding also caused a few area schools to close early. Accomack County Schools, Mathews County Schools and Portsmouth Christian Schools all closed early due to flooding and high waters.
