Woman uses stolen info to cash checks

YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - Deputies in York County are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman who cashed several checks with stolen information.

Lt. Dennis Ivey with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said the unknown white female suspect cashed four checks between two Bank of America locations on Sept. 25. The fraud occurred at the Washington Square location in York County and the Hilton location in Newport News.

The suspect used a stolen driver’s license, stolen Social Security card and stolen account information to cash the checks. She is believed to be driving a Chevrolet Traverse.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
