PD: Woman left contraband in jail trash

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Police say a woman has been arrested for leaving items at a prison dumpster for an inmate to use.

According to Newport News Police, 39-year-old Karin Ann Cosgro of Newport News was observed putting cigarettes, a cell phone and bottles of suspected spice inside of dumpster at Newport News City Farm Dec. 8 just after noon.

Police say further investigation showed Cosgro was leaving the items for an inmate to pick up and use.
