SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A Suffolk woman was arrested after a motorist said she threw a water bottle at his vehicle Tuesday.
Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk told WAVY.com the incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. in the 800 block of Milford Lane. The victim told police he was traveling on Milford Lane when he saw a woman standing in the middle of the road, waving her hands.
The victim said he moved to the left side of the road to avoid the woman and heard something hit his windshield. He claimed it was a clear Deer Park water bottle.
At that time, he backed up to confront the woman, identified as Charlene Hall, 36. According to the victim, the two engaged in a verbal altercation and Hall accused him of speeding on Milford Lane.
When Hall was questioned by police, she said she was walking with her children on Milford Lane when she saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Hall told police she stood in the middle of the road, waving her hands while holding a water bottle. Hall claimed she fell and the water bottle fell out of her hands.
According to police, Hall said she didn’t know the water bottle hit the victim’s vehicle but did say she and the victim engaged in a verbal altercation about his speeding. She was not able to tell police how fast the victim was going.
Hall did have a small scratch on her palm and scratches on her elbow, police said. She refused medical treatment.
Hall was arrested two days later and charged with throwing missiles at an occupied vehicle.
