VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach Police have arrested a woman accused of biting an officer when she refused to leave a home Thursday night.
According to Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department, officers responded to the 1200 block of Prosperity Road around 8:30 p.m. for a report of a dispute. Upon arrival they learned a woman was asked to leave the home but refused.
The suspect, identified as Amanda Kay Britt, 36, became combative and abuse toward the officers as they confronted her, Moyers said. When the officers tried to apprehend her, Moyers said she bit one of the officers on the hand. He was wearing gloves at the time and did not require medical attention.
Britt has been charged with one count of assault on a law enforcement officer and is currently incarcerated at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center.
