VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A 24-year-old Virginia Beach woman arrested for killing her husband earlier this month has been released from jail on bond.
According to the Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office, Janeth O'Brien was released from jail Aug. 23 on a $35,000 bond.
Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department said officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Roosevelt Avenue around 10 p.m. Aug. 12 for a report of a shooting. Officers found 27-year-old Kiel J. O'Brien lying in the yard with multiple gunshot wounds.
According to Moyers, the shooting happened inside of the O'Brien home. Further investigation revealed an altercation had taken place between Janeth and Kiel O’Brien.
Neighbors tell WAVY.com Kiel O'Brien had a young child.
Janeth O’Brien was charged with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
