Armed suspects rob VB bank

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach Police are searching for two suspects responsible for robbing a bank Tuesday morning and driving a car that was reported stolen earlier this week.

Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department said the Wells Fargo located at 5284 Providence Rd. was robbed by two men at approximately 10:30 a.m. 

Moyers said the suspects, who were armed with handguns and wearing masks, demanded money from a teller, who handed them an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The two men then fled in a blue Plymouth 4-door vehicle, which was later found abandoned in an area close to the Wells Fargo bank, according to Moyers.

Police said the car was reported stolen in Virginia Beach earlier this week.

The suspects are described as the following:

  • The first suspect is described as a black man in his 20’s, 5’7" to 5’8" with a thin build, weighing between 150 and 160 pounds, wearing a black mask, a blue sweatshirt and dark gloves during the crime
  • The second suspect is described as a white man in his 20’s, 5’6" with a medium build, weighing between 150 and 160 pounds, wearing a black mask, black sweatshirt and dark gloves, carrying a dark backpack during the crime.
