NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News Police need help catching two suspects who robbed a gas station Saturday.
Harold Eley with the Newport News Police Department said the robbery occurred around 1:15 a.m. at the Shell Gas Station located at 12089 Jefferson Ave. Two unknown men entered the store and one, armed with a long gun, demanded money from the clerk.
The second suspect stayed by the door and acted as a lookout.
After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspects fled toward Impressions Apartments next door. No one was injured.
The suspect with the gun was described as possibly a light-skinned black male standing about 5’10” and wearing dark clothing. He had a bright blue do-rag around his face. The second suspect was around the same height with a thin build and was also wearing dark clothing.
