GREENVILLE, N.C. (WAVY) - Police in Greenville have arrested three suspects allegedly responsible for a slew of robberies in North Carolina and Virginia.
According to Joe Friday with the Greenville Police Department, Terren Hill, 20, Ashley Sheppard, 20, and Thomas Navarro, 18, all of Windsor, N.C. were arrested and charged in connection with a Dec. 26 strong armed robbery and credit card fraud at a Greenville Wal-Mart.
While the suspects were driving around the store's parking lot, one of them reached out and grabbed a woman's purse then used the credit card at a local Family Dollar store to purchase diapers and other items, according to Friday.
Additionally, Friday said police believe there was an infant at the time of the crime inside of their car.
Kelly O'Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department said charges are pending against Hill and Navarro in connection with two incidents that took place at a Wal-Mart in the 600 block of 632 Grassfield Parkway. The first incident was Dec. 15 and was a purse snatching much like the Greenville incident, and the Dec. 27 incident was an attempted purse snatching.
O'Sullivan said Chesapeake police are not seeking charges for Sheppard.
Elizabeth City police detectives also say the suspects may be responsible for robberies in their city.
