Man asks for change then robs clerk

Suspect: "Actually, this is a robbery"

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Police said a suspect is wanted for entering a gas station, asking the clerk for change then reaching over the counter and pulling out money from the register.

According to Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk, the man entered the Exxon gas station in the 800 block of West Constance Road just before 6 p.m. Jan. 23 and asked the clerk for change.

As the clerk opened the register, the suspect said, "Actually, this is a robbery," and reached over the counter, pulling out money from the register.

The suspect is described as a black man with a slim build, in his late 30s or early 40s, with short black hair and weighing approximately 200 pounds.
