Stolen Jeep leads to pursuit in OBX

KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. (WAVY) - Officers in Kill Devil Hills say a 22-year-old woman stole a vehicle from a dealership and tried to run over an employee Monday.

Sgt. J.C. Towler, Jr. with the Kill Devil Hills Police Department said a 2012 Jeep Wrangler was stolen from the Outer Banks Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership located at 3000 N. Croatan Hwy around 2:30 p.m.

The suspect, who police say is Kimberly Ann Earley of Chesapeake, attempted to run over an employee of the dealership with the stolen vehicle.

According to Towler, Earley led officers on a pursuit into Nags Head, where she was arrested by the Nags Head Police Department. Earley faces numerous traffic charges in Nags Head stemming from the incident.

In addition to traffic offenses in Nags Head, Earley is facing charges in Kill Devil Hills of felonious larceny and assault with a deadly weapon.
