NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Police say 26-year-old Leedente Brown of Portsmouth was arrested for allegedly stabbing another man at Norfolk's MacArthur Center Monday.

Karen Parker-Chesson with the Norfolk Police Department told WAVY.com police were called for a report of a male stabbing victim on the second floor at approximately 1 p.m. Monday. The victim was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment and is expected to be okay.

"When I walked out, the two men were having an altercation on the floor in front of the Radio Shack. At that point, the police officers and the security guard kind of rushed in," recalled William Lebo, who was inside Dillard's when he heard the commotion nearby.

Lebo saw the victim, who he says was bleeding badly from the knife slash. "It was on his left shoulder. His collar was torn. He had it folded over and he was holding onto the wound trying to stop the blood from coming out."

Witnesses told WAVY.com they saw Brown leave his phone at the Radio Shack store before the incident. They say he picked his phone up from the store after the stabbing and was taken into custody shortly thereafter on malicious wounding charges.

Brown will likely face additional charges.

Police said the argument likely stemmed over a woman, who was also taken into custody.
