SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Police say three women were arrested for assaulting another woman in Suffolk Sunday evening in two separate incidents.
According to Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk, the victim contacted police Jan. 13 and said she was assaulted by three women in the 1200 block of White Marsh Road. The victim said the women, Shalecia Cooke, 24, Johnetta Carroll, 22 and Melissa Cooke, 43, all of Suffolk, entered her home and started punching her in the face.
Klink said the victim alleged the women pulled her outside of the home and further assaulted her. At that point, the victim screamed out for her sister who pulled her back inside of the home, according to Klink.
Klink said following this incident, the victim and her mother went to Cogic Square to confront the suspects. Shalecia Cooke got into a fight with the victim and Melissa Cooke struck the victim with a beer bottle, according to Klink.
The victim did not sustain any visible injuries from the incidents and refused medical attention. Both of the incidents occurred between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Shalecia Cooke was charged with breaking and entering to commit an assault and assault by mob, Carroll was charged with assault by mob and Melissa Cooke was charged with simple assault.
