Newport News, Va - Police are searching for a man who stole a gold chain worth more than $3,000 from a Newport News pawn shop on July 13.
According to Holly McPherson with the Newport News Police Department, an unidentified male suspect entered the American Enterprise Pawn Shop located at 10740 Jefferson Ave. and asked to try on a gold chain valued at $3,800.
After obtaining the gold chain, the suspect walked out of the store without paying for it, McPherson said.
The suspect has been identified as a black male with braids. He was wearing a black shirt at the time of the theft.
